Ever since 2003 Park Hotel Weggis may praise itself as the best holiday resort in Central Switzerland. Accordingly great, is the pleasure that we got voted 8th place as the best holiday resort nationwide this year.
In the category «Tour operators- and convention operators experience» we got voted a fantastic 1st place, for this excellent ranking we want to thank all our tour partners for their loyalty as well as all our staff for the ongoing increase in quality and the constant motivation for a top performance.
Furthermore we congratulate our spa manager Brigitte Bünder on her terrific valuation. BILANZ voted Mrs. Bünder for the spa manager of the year. We are extremely proud to have her in our team!

Guildford, UK – Guests staying at the Park Hotel Weggis, a luxury 5 star superior hotel on the shores of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, will be among the first in the world to experience the Avaya Guest Media Hub, an in-room communication device specifically built for the hospitality industry. Much more than a phone, the Guest Media Hub provides a unique experience for guests of Park Hotel Weggis by providing an intuitive way of interacting with the hotel, and offering easy access to key services and personalized content.
The Guest Media Hub has a sophisticated look and feel, including a colorful touch screen interface providing quick navigation and dynamic visuals. It enables guests to not only make phone calls, set alarms, get stock quotes and check the weather – but also discover many hotel-related amenities. Park Hotel Weggis guests can use the Guest Media Hub to browse menus and make reservations for the hotel’s highly–rated restaurants, view the hotel’s extensive 25,000 bottle wine list, and order room service – all from the comfort of their room. Information on hotel amenities including the spa, pool, golf course and local area attractions can be viewed on the Guest Media Hub in English, German, French, and Italian.

Avaya Professional Services worked closely with the management of the Park Hotel Weggis to develop unique applications specifically for the property and location. At today’s launch of the Gault Millau guide 2010 it got announced that the gourmet restaurant Annex and the restaurant Sparks are awarded with an additional point each.
Gourmet Restaurant Annex, 16 Gault Millau Points and 1 Michelin Star The crew around chef de cusine Renee Rischmeyer always conjures on the highest level. Now the enthusiastic cooks achieved the longed-for appreciation.
Restaurant Sparks, 14 Gault Millau Points Chef Florian Gilges and his brigade have refined the concept in spring already– and got rewarded with an additional point.
Despite the economically challenging situation the device at the Park Hotel Weggis was always “We do not cut down on quality at all.” The awards from Bilanz and Gault Millau prove that it was the right approach. The delight is huge!

| Switzerland-Lucerne Gourmet and Wine Festival in Beijing |
From 18th to 27th September 2009 Switzerland Tourism, Lucerne and Lake Lucerne region present the „Switzerland-Lucerne Gourmet and Wine Festival” at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Beijing/ China.
They promote new dining experiences by tasting the authentic flavours of Switzerland at the daily lunch and dinner buffet. The “Spaetzuender” from our region will be performing with “Handoergeli” music. Already at the “House of Switzerland” during the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing last summer this group was THE crowd puller!
There the Park Hotel Weggis was present too – and will be as well during this event.
Lucerne is the city most frequently visited by Chinese travellers in Switzerland and is thus becoming more and more popular within the Chinese market: there were 85% more visitors by the end of June 2009 in comparison with the previous year. That’s why China is one of the most important markets of Lucerne and its area.
Furthermore Lucerne will be present again in Beijing with four performances by the Lucerne Festival Orchestra in the National Centre of the Performing Arts (NCPA) – a highlight during the year’s concert season in Beijing.

Restaurant Sparks now rated with 14 points GaultMillau.
Named after its publishers, GaultMillau is next to the Guide Michelin one of the most influental restaurant guides with French provenanze. A scale from one to twenty points is the rating system. The restaurant Sparks at Park Hotel Weggis refined its concept – and got rewarded with an additional point.
Florian Gilges joined the Park Hotel Weggis team in the year 2000 and holds the scepter in the Sparks kitchen since 2006 in his hands. The native-born German gained his experiences in his home country as well as in France and in several establishments in Switzerland.
Michael Schnölzer is engaged at Park Hotel Weggis since 2001 and got promoted to Gilge’s deputy a year ago. Rightly, as we know latest since the visit of GaultMillau! It was him standing at the stove this day and cooking this one point more for the Sparks.
The two passionate gastronomers and their team of 16 cooks harmonise in traditional meals regional products and calory conscious preparation. Swiss kitchen coupled with a playful, light Sparkling Cuisine awaits the gourmet. The name Sparks resulted from„Sparkling“. Adequate the menus: little fireworks out of artful combinations for consumption with relish but without compunction.
In the honorable art-nouveau hall gourmets may enjoy the Sparks cuisine under the candelabra. The concept combines cook culture with design and art: large-sized pictures of the artist Luciano Castelli show seductive acts in the change of the seasons. During the summer months guests enjoy the fantastic view to lake and mountains from the arcade veranda and the garden terrace. | New crockery at the gourmet restaurant Annex |
| Since Saturday 6 December 2008 the delicious and visionary creations out of the gourmet kitchen from Renee Rischmeyer get served on new porcelain. The choice was made on the exclusive edition BERLIN by KPM Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin. In 1996 the Milan designer Enzo Mari and the KPM master factory created the edition BERLIN, which enriched a classic form with modern accents. The service got the design award in 1998. The Annex is the only restaurant in Switzerland who owns this precious crockery. |

| Restaurant Annex has been awarded one Michelin star! |
Just a year after he started working at the restaurant Annex at Park Hotel Weggis, Chef Renee Rischmeyer has been awarded one Michelin star from the world-renowned Michelin Guide in the just-released 2008 Swiss edition. In the gastronomic guide "Guide Michelin Switzerland 2008" 1'917 restaurants are recommended, whereof 84 are awarded with the requested Michelin stars. 11 restaurants have received one Michelin star for the first time. In total there are 69 restaurants awarded one Michelin star. A light and aromatic gourmet cuisine is celebrated in the superb Restaurant Annex, where traditional French culinary influence is harmoniously blended with inspiring ideas from Asia and the Mediterranean. By the creative conversion of his innovative cuisine, wherever possible, Chef Renee Rischmeyer selects market-fresh seasonal products. He combines fresh top-quality products with most varied herbs and flavours and a grand portion of passion and sophisticated skill. The multi-talented cooking artist Renee Rischmeyer is at the wheel of the Annex Cuisine Team. | The Park Hotel Weggis opens its doors to reveal new and attractive extensions on 1 July 2007 |
The Park Hotel Weggis is now even more attractive after the completion of yet another construction lap! On July 1, 2007, the five-star hotel opens its doors to reveal superb extensions with ten additional suites, outdoor covered swimming pool, double-storey underground car park and completely new hotel access road.
With this project, the preexisting offers have been complemented and the former little jewel by Lake Lucerne has now become a grand luxury resort! The new Adara Suits gratify even the most capricious desires and through its latest improvements, the hotel no longer relies on fine weather to content guests, but has a number of additional year-round attractions rain or shine!
Construction work initiated on September 18, 2006, following carefully thought-out ideas that initiated already in 2004. The Aldoplan architectural enterprise took on responsibilities for the planning and realisation of the overall 15,700m3 site, with a construction area of approximately 4,000m2.
